The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has described the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as a “guardian of peace,” highlighting his role in promoting stability and unity.
He made the remarks at the World Meets In Ghana Executive Dinner Ball held on April 24, 2026, in honour of the Asantehene’s 27th anniversary on the Golden Stool. The event formed part of activities marking over two decades of his leadership of the Asante Kingdom.
Speaking during the programme, the Warri monarch noted that Otumfuo’s influence goes beyond traditional authority, reflecting a leadership style rooted in deliberation and purpose.
“I affirm him as a guardian of peace, one whose impact is the result of deliberate and thoughtful leadership,” he said.
The event brought together several dignitaries, including political leaders, traditional authorities and members of the diplomatic community. Their presence underscored the Asantehene’s growing recognition both within Ghana and across the African continent.
Observers say such endorsements continue to highlight the relevance of traditional leadership in modern governance and conflict resolution.
