The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to headline a major business and cultural engagement in Canada this June as part of activities dubbed “Beyond the World Cup Business Event in Canada.”
The high-profile programme, organised by the Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Canada High Commission in Accra and the Ghana High Commission in Canada, is expected to strengthen economic, cultural and diaspora relations between Ghana and Canada.
The three-day programme will begin on June 16, 2026, with a Power Breakfast Business Meeting at the Woodbine Banquet Hall in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will attend as Special Guest of Honour for the event, which will bring together over 200 business and community leaders from both Ghana and Canada.
The breakfast meeting will focus on the theme: “Borderless Business: Connecting Ghana and Canada Through Trade, Investment and Partnerships.”
The event will feature networking sessions with top executives and entrepreneurs, discussions on investment opportunities, fireside chats with distinguished leaders, and conversations aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Activities will continue on June 17 with the opening of the Ghana Sports Village and a grand durbar at Sankofa Square in Toronto.
The final day, June 18, will see the Asantehene engage with members of the Ashanti and Ghanaian diaspora communities in Canada.
Mining giant Asanko Gold Ghana has been named as the Gold Sponsor for the event, while several organisations including the Ghanaian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Portage Energy and Sports Life are also partnering the programme.
The initiative is expected to deepen trade and investment opportunities between Ghana and Canada while also promoting Ghanaian culture and heritage on the international stage.
